POSTED 01/07/2014
Ottawa, Ontario – Lumenera Corporation, a leading manufacturer and developer of high-performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions for industrial, scientific, surveillance and astronomy markets, continues to position itself as a worldwide imaging leader. Today, its engineering team has reached a new level of success by being the first to stream live video from Sony’s 12 megapixel ICX834 sensor via a USB 3.0 interface.
As a go-to company for unique and challenging imaging applications, Lumenera’s engineering team was able to draw from its strong digital interface and sensor expertise, industry-leading camera architecture, as well as its advanced algorithms to build the Lt1265R USB 3.0 camera. Still under development, this product has incorporated the new Sony 12 megapixel ICX834 sensor, streaming full resolution images at 15 frames per second with exceptionally high color fidelity, low-noise, and 3.1 micron square pixels.
“Lumenera's commitment to advanced technology and innovation, as well as our high level of excellence are once again on display.” stated Andrew Nelson, VP Engineering, Lumenera Corporation. “Being the first company to run live video feed from the ICX834 sensor is a big win for our engineering team and for Lumenera. I am very proud of the team’s accomplishments.”
“These are exciting times for Lumenera with new technologies being developed weekly.” said Huw Leahy, President, Lumenera Corporation. “We often don’t have the chance to disclose our successes and the true strength of our software and hardware engineers, as a great portion of our business is privately OEMd. We have a skilled team that continuously solves customer challenges and are dedicated to our success. Congratulations team!”
The Lt1265R camera, along with other models that include advanced Sony sensors of the same family will soon be available in Lumenera’s new Lt series of high performance USB 3.0 cameras.
