LMI Technologies’ Gocator Short Listed for the Vision Award

POSTED 08/19/2011

rong>Gocator makes the list of finalists for a “Prize for Applied Image Processing,” Winner to be announced at the Vision Trade Fair in Stuttgart on November 8th

VANCOUVER, CANADA -- LMI Technologies, a global industry leader in 3D laser measurement and control sensor technology today announced that the Gocator all-in-one 3D smart sensor has been short listed for the Vision Award, a “prize for applied image processing.” LMI’s Gocator is being recognized as an outstanding product innovation. The winner of the Vision Award will be announced at the Vision Trade Fair in Stuttgart on November 8th, 2011.

Gocator smart sensors are all-in-one solutions that make 3D measurement and control for factory automation accessible to all levels of expertise. Through Gocator’s built-in web tools, users can easily perform inline part inspections, quality controls, communicate results (either directly or to a PLC), as well as make sorting and tracking decisions. Gocators fit a large range of applications as fully functional standalone sensors, or when combined to create powerful multi-Gocator systems.

“It is satisfying to have Gocator considered for an award of this calibre,” said LMI CEO, Terry Arden. “The Gocator family is all about driving 100% inspection into the factory automation industry at a level suitable for process engineers and electricians and being recognized by influential industry experts further validates the product’s potential.”

Awarded by a panel of industry leading machine vision experts, the Vision Award recognizes an outstanding product or processes. The winning product will garner its developer an award plus a €5,000 prize presented at a show event on November 8th, 2011. The Vision Award winner is also invited to host a Vision press conference to present a paper on their innovation to a panel of industry leaders and decision makers attending the trade fair.

LMI Technologies will be exhibiting the Gocator at the 2011 Vision Trade Fair, in hall 4 at stand 4A54, and will have representatives in attendance at the Vision Award event.

Information on the Gocator line of 3D smart sensors is available on LMI’s website. Pricing information and live demonstrations can be coordinated by emailing LMI at info@lmi3D.com.
