KUKA Robot Demonstration Cells

1. Mobile robotics with KUKA KMR iiwa
Freeing industrial robots from their floor mounts results in more flexibility and functionality. The KMR iiwa from KUKA is a combination of the collaborative LBR iiwa robot and KMP mobile platform featuring our unique mecanum wheels with nearly infinite degrees of 2D freedom and sub-millimeter accuracy. Fully autonomous and safe navigation is possible thanks to laser scanning and live-mapping, with immediate collision avoidance.

2. KUKA Safe Operation Demo featuring KR AGILUS KR 10 R1100 Sixx
This cell demonstrates how to use a traditional industrial robot in collaborative applications by incorporating auxiliary safety technology. With the use of area scanners, these fence-less solutions offer speed and throughput for automation cells but remain safe for humans to enter the work area when interaction with the robot is necessary.

3. Teach by Hand demonstration with KUKA LBR iiwa
In this demo, attendees will be able to teach a robot rather than program it. Once the robot is taught by lead-through motions, attendees can watch as the operation is immediately transformed into a robot program – demonstrating human-robot collaboration.

4. KUKA Ready2_Fasten_Micro featuring the new KR 3 AGILUS
This is a fully integrated and ready-to-use robotic system from KUKA featuring the KR 3 AGILUS. This system makes it easy to automate manufacturing of small parts and products in the very confined workspaces of the electronics industry. The KR 3 AGILUS is the newest and most compact member of the KUKA Robotics AGILUS family, offering even greater speed, flexibility, and accuracy for a variety of applications and industries.

5. LBR iiwa Gear Assembly Demonstration
This cell demonstrates how the robot can be fully utilized in a machine tool environment by assembling a group of metal gears. Those attending will observe the LBR iiwa using contact detection from the built-in force sensors to properly insert a third gear within two pre-assembled gears.

6. KUKA College Training Cells
The ability to offer training to partners and customers in the local area is very important to KUKA, so the same training cells that are found at our North American headquarters in Shelby Township, Mich., will be showcased at the facility. KUKA will have a large train-ing cell featuring a KR 16 robot and small training cell featuring the KR AGILUS on display.

7. Electronics TechCenter
Introducing the KUKA Electronics TechCenter located at our KUKA West Coast Fremont location. This new TechCenter features the KR AGILUS sixx, the KR 3 AGILUS, and the LBR iiwa. KUKA’s Electronics TechCenter is designed to meet the increasing needs of customers in this important industry. The TechCenter will offer customers the opportunity to work and test closely with KUKA engineers on customized solutions in a secure and confidential environment.

8. KUKA Connect
KUKA Connect is KUKA’s new cloud-based software platform that provides customers access to, and analytics of, their robots at anytime, anywhere, on any device. Built on open global standards, KUKA Connect securely leverages cloud computing technologies and big data analytics to provide customers maximum visibility into their connected KUKA robots.
