Computar Releases 5 Megapixel Lens Series

v>Computar announced the release of their new 5 Megapixel Security Lens lineup. Until now, megapixel lenses have frequently failed to achieve the same resolution of multi-megapixel IP cameras, making them the weakest link in the system and limiting detail on digital zoom playback. Computar has set a new standard by introducing a series of 5MP IR varifocal and monofocal lenses specifically designed for the surveillance market. Unlike some 5MP lenses that are optimized for close up applications, Computar’s new lineup displays maximum resolution and picture quality at longer focus distances typically used for security.

The first lens to be released, the E3Z4518CS-MPIR is a 5 Megapixel, 1/1.8" 4.5-13.2mm F1.8 Varifocal, HD Series, Manual (CS Mount) Day/Night IR.
