AIA Announces Inaugural Event for Vision & Imaging Applications in Life Sciences

POSTED 06/09/2015

(An
n Arbor, Michigan) AIA has announced it will host its first Vision in Life Sciences Conference in San Diego this fall. The inaugural event will be held November 19, 2015 at the Marriott hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego, California.

The one day event will feature in depth presentations on leading-edge vision technologies such as imaging optics, lasers, LEDs, and other lighting sources, cameras and imager technology, and optical filters. The conference will also include tabletop exhibits featuring leading companies showcasing vision and imaging technologies used in the Life Sciences industry.

“Vision and imaging are critical components of Life Sciences applications today,” said Jeff Burnstein, President of AIA. “How companies can apply vision in Life Sciences is not as widely understood as in industries like electronics or automotive. This event is a great chance for Life Sciences companies to learn how vision and imaging technologies can help them solve their specific challenges.”

AIA, which is the world’s leading trade group for vision and imaging companies, will also conduct its Certified Vision Professional (CVP) – Basic level training and certification program on November 17 & 18, in conjunction with the event. The training will include the following courses: The Fundamentals of Machine Vision, Image Processing Fundamentals, Beginning Lighting for Machine Vision, The Fundamentals of Camera and Image Sensor Technology, and Beginning Optics for Machine Vision. The CVP-Basic certification exam will also be offered, and the training will be scheduled so attendees can also register for the Vision in Life Sciences Conference.

Registration for the Vision in Life Sciences Conference and CVP Basic training is now open on AIA’s website (Vision Online).
