Robotics Network Innovation Leader, Procter & Gamble

Mark Lewandowski is the Director of Robotics Innovation in Global Engineering for Procter & Gamble. He has 30 years of machine controls, robotics, and machine safety experience with Procter & Gamble in high speed converting, packaging, and robotics applications. Mark leads the Robotics Innovation group for the P&G Robotics Technical Network that is chartered to develop standard approaches for robotics technology throughout P&G and is responsible for identifying new and innovative robotic technologies to leverage within the company.

Mark is also a member of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) Board of Directors and participates in several industry standard development groups for robotics and machine safety.

Juan Aparicio is the VP Product at Ready Robotics, where he is accelerating the adoption of automation with an ease-of-use and open platform approach to robotics. Before that, Juan was the Head of Advanced Manufacturing Automation for Siemens, where he led a team of researchers and engineers in the area of Robotics + AI, in Berkeley, California. 

In addition to his job at Ready, he is a Technical Advisor for the Advanced Robotics in Manufacturing (ARM), member of A3’s AI Tech Board and Skydeck advisor. Mr. Aparicio has been awarded the MIT Tech Review innovator under35 2019 Europe in the Pioneer category. In 2020, he was awarded Siemens Inventor of the year and the prestigious Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award.

Paul is responsible for business development and implementation of Robotic Automation Systems and ROBODRILL machine tools for automotive OEMs, tier suppliers, and general industry customers.

With over 35 years’ experience in the automation industry, he provides leadership related to systems for part processing, assembly, machine tending, inspection, and material handling utilizing Robotics, Machine Vision, Force Sensing, CNC, and Collaborative technologies.

Paul has been active with the A3 R15.06 Robot Safety Standard committee since 2002 and the A3 R15.08 Industrial Mobile Robot Standard committee since its inception. He serves as a member of the A3-OSHA-NIOSH Alliance Team, the U.S. Technical Advisory Committee to ISO TC299 for global Robot Safety Standards, and the A3 Technology Strategy Board for AI.

Paul also serves on Wayne State University’s Industrial Advisory Board for the Collaborative Robotics Learning Program.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University with focus on robotics and manufacturing technology.

Dr. Kel Guerin has been working in the robotics space for almost 15 years, focusing on the design and usability of a wide variety of robots, including systems for space exploration, deep mining, surgery and industrial manufacturing. While obtaining his PhD from Johns Hopkins University, Kel worked specifically on the challenge of making industrial robots more flexible and easy to use. The result was the award winning Forge Operating System and easy-to-use programming interface for industrial robots. Kel spun out his technology into READY Robotics, an industrial robotics start-up he co-founded in 2016. His work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and READY's products have been called "the Swiss Army knife of robots" by Inc.magazine.

Dr. Massimiliano Versace is the CEO and co-founder of Neurala. With decades of experience and research in AI and deep learning techniques, Dr. Versace is now focused on making AI more applicable and useful in real-world applications, specifically in the manufacturing and industrial industry. Prior to co-founding Neurala, Dr. Versace co-founded the Boston University Neuromorphics Lab, and worked with government organizations such as DARPA and NASA to develop AI with the ability to learn in real-time, at the edge, and free of traditional constraints of computational hardware. 

Dr. Versace has spoken at numerous events, including a keynote at Mobile World Congress Drone Summit, TEDx, NASA, the Pentagon, MIT Tech Review’s Future Compute and IMA Sensing Days. His work has been featured in Forbes, CNN, Fortune, MSNBC, the Associated Press, TechCrunch, VentureBeat, and more.
