Description

Engineering professional with 3D solid modeling design experience. Ability to develop a mechanical design from a customer specification. This includes conceptual design for approval, detailed drawings, and a comprehensive bill of material.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support project from kickoff through build, debug, runoff and installation
  • Mechanical design: concept design, detailed drawings, assembly prints, timing chart, component/device list, recommended spare parts, and a bill of material
  • Organization and maintenance of CAD files
  • Knowledge of safety and ergonomics standards
  • Ability to travel as required (about 10%)

Minimum Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to self-learn new technologies, practices, concepts, etc. as required
  • Communication skills with all levels (project management, suppliers, colleagues, customer, etc.)
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks
  • Ability to estimate hours and budget costs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems
  • Self-starter that is able to work either in a team environment or independently
  • Microsoft Office

Minimum Education & Experience

  • BSME, AS MET or equivalent relevant experience
  • Industrial robot knowledge
  • Risk assessment processes & current applicable safety standards
  • Experience in special machine design
  • 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
