Description
Engineering professional with 3D solid modeling design experience. Ability to develop a mechanical design from a customer specification. This includes conceptual design for approval, detailed drawings, and a comprehensive bill of material.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Support project from kickoff through build, debug, runoff and installation
- Mechanical design: concept design, detailed drawings, assembly prints, timing chart, component/device list, recommended spare parts, and a bill of material
- Organization and maintenance of CAD files
- Knowledge of safety and ergonomics standards
- Ability to travel as required (about 10%)
Minimum Skills & Abilities
- Ability to self-learn new technologies, practices, concepts, etc. as required
- Communication skills with all levels (project management, suppliers, colleagues, customer, etc.)
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks
- Ability to estimate hours and budget costs
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems
- Self-starter that is able to work either in a team environment or independently
- Microsoft Office
Minimum Education & Experience
- BSME, AS MET or equivalent relevant experience
- Industrial robot knowledge
- Risk assessment processes & current applicable safety standards
- Experience in special machine design
- 3D CAD design (SolidWorks preferred)
