Description

The Robotics Engineer will work as part of the Controls team to program, test, install, and commission industrial and collaborative robots. 

Major Duties & Responsibilities

The specific tasks of the Robotics Engineer include:

  • Programming of Industrial and Collaborative robots 
    • This includes ground-up development of robot programs as well as modifications to existing programs
    • Current platforms that IRIS uses are Kawasaki, UR, and Yaskawa. Other platforms may be added in the future so knowledge of a variety of robotics platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Safety Systems as they relate to robotics
    • Safety standards
    • Safety programming (Keyence, Banner, etc.)
    • Ability to make safety updates as needed, which comply with RIA standards
    Provide engineering consultation for customers
  • Onsite Installation, Commissioning, and Support (Approximately 25% Travel)

Minimum Skills & Abilities

  • Robotics Programming, regardless of robot platform
  • General PLC knowledge for troubleshooting and small modifications
    • Allen-Bradley preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • System troubleshooting

Minimum Education & Experience

Associates Degree

3 years experience
