Description
The Robotics Engineer will work as part of the Controls team to program, test, install, and commission industrial and collaborative robots.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
The specific tasks of the Robotics Engineer include:
- Programming of Industrial and Collaborative robots
- This includes ground-up development of robot programs as well as modifications to existing programs
- Current platforms that IRIS uses are Kawasaki, UR, and Yaskawa. Other platforms may be added in the future so knowledge of a variety of robotics platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of Safety Systems as they relate to robotics
- Safety standards
- Safety programming (Keyence, Banner, etc.)
- Ability to make safety updates as needed, which comply with RIA standards
- Onsite Installation, Commissioning, and Support (Approximately 25% Travel)
Minimum Skills & Abilities
- Robotics Programming, regardless of robot platform
- General PLC knowledge for troubleshooting and small modifications
- Allen-Bradley preferred
- Mechanical aptitude
- System troubleshooting
Minimum Education & Experience
Associates Degree
3 years experience
